I trained in Fine Art as a mature student and graduated in the early 2000's. I paint in a number of media's but without doubt my favourites are graphite and pastels. Subject wise it is always nature that captures my imagination, from plants and rocks to big skies As an artist the possibilities to alter and play around with shapes and colours are endless giving one the exciting choices of tweaking realism and producing a fresh new look to a familiar object. I also enjoy hugely experimenting with different bits and pieces just to see what will happen if I add this to that; does it look interesting or is it a load of rubbish. The joy of being an artist is not just the creativity it is the freedom.
